This is a picture of a bush with a wood stem. The only difference between a woody plant and a herbaceous plant is that the woody plant produces wood for the structural tissue. the wood is stronger and more protective then the herbaceous and is usually much larger in size. Woody plants are usually trees or shrubs where as herbaceous are usually flowers.
