This is a picture of a maple leaf, a maple leaf is a good example of a deciduous leaf because it shows how they are much bigger than a conifer leaf. The size helps them take in a huge amount of sunlight, during the warm seasons deciduous trees can photosynthesize at a much faster pace than coniferous trees. Deciduous means: the dropping of a part that is no longer needed. In the case of trees, they lose their leaves during the cold season because they are of no use. The tree takes the nutrients from the leaves then gets rid of them until the next time they are needed.
